You don't want to drop high quality items in a sub par box and a bad bandpass is as bad as you can get. I'm having them make me 2 sealed inclosures because you can't mess that up, but I wouldn't do the bandpass from them myself.

read my thread about them further down. I don't know about the bandpass box, but I'm extremely satisfied with my dual sealed box. I think they are pretty damn good for the price. In all the audio shop I've been in I haven't seen a better box, and their are twice as expensive.

I would not get a prebuit bandpass or ported box. You should ask them to buid one to the specs of your subs. Otherwise it's a waste of money for looks.

If it's so easy, do it yourself! Really, it is easy. That's why I do it myself. No, really get it from them. I don't give a dang anymore. But if that were true, I wouldn't have said anything.

A cheap speaker in a good box will stomp a great speaker in a poor box every day of the week. This really is the plain truth.

I don't doubt you, but I recenty upgraded my box to a much better one,(my old one was a big pos) and I noticed very little difference. I don't think regular bassheads will benefit from super expensive custom boxes.

Super expensive custom enclosure:
32 sq ft MDF = $10.00 - $15.00
box of wood screws <= $2.00
small polyurethane glue boottle <= $5.00
polyurethane sealer <= $3.00

Total, possibly as high as $25.00 and you have enough materials to make 2, 4, 8 or more boxes.

What are those boxes made of ? Making a cheap sealed MDF box is the best way to go. Sealed all the way man, SQ!

Making an assumption from the other posts by thumpinmaxima, it seems like SPL is the main goal in his setup.

Exactly. Keep in mind...speakers come with "specs" for a reason. Each speaker is designed for proper airspace.

Build yourself a prop[er sealed box, you save money on the box, and on shipping !
