(apparently) Really high end Premier deck to hook up.

Okay, here goes. I have just purchased a Pioneer Premier DEX-P98R. Currently I have a POS sony xplod that was there when I bought the car. I bought a package containing the Deck, a premier 6 disc changer, and a voice commander. Now here is my problem: The deck has no internal amp and it only has 3 sets of RCA outs. Front/Rear/Sub. I would like to get an amp in the next couple weeks but until then I want to use the factory (non-bose) amp. I belive the amp was disabled by the previous owner (the sony's volume scale is correct) but I find no evidence of the wire cutting/splicing mentioned in the tutorial. Assuming I can re-enable the amp temporarily; should I just solder RCA plugs onto the wiring harness leading to the amp so I can connect it to the deck? Also, has anyone owned this deck or know anyone who has? I have heard that it was great from the one person I asked.

BTW: anyone reading this who doesnt already know better DO NOT ever consider buying an xplod. I my opinion, sony makes pretty good stuff, as long as you stay far away from xplod.

Anyway, help is always appreciated.

Thanks,
Keelan

you gotta be kidding. Do you really want it that badly? I may want to part with it, but I should make sure it works and all though. It seems however that the guy I won it from on ebay is ignoring my emails so maybe he's mad that it went so cheap....I was actually looking for an excelon and found this one by accident...

dude this is a $800 unit. Go to PioneerElectronics.com and see the MSRP on that baby. Deduct $150 and this is your market going price.

O actually I didnt notice that it is a P98R I thought it was a P9R (much newer model). If you are still looking for an Excelon, shoot me an Email, I could possibly help you out.

The P98R had a $480 MSRP. This one.

Yes, I still would like an excelon, but I'll see if this guy is gonna jerk me around or not. He said he'd contact within 24h and I contacted him after 2days and still no response so....

Well either way, Im here if ya need anything.

BTW I offer good prices, but I will not compare with Ebay. Not to sound snotty or anything of the sort, but I will not try to compare to Ebay prices..I am an authorized dealer for everything that I sell, it is all legit, and complete with warranties.
