to use crossover or not?

I currently have a US Amps crossover hooked in with my pyramid blue series amp and my jenson amp. I am going to be getting new amps next month (JL 250/2 and 300/4) and was wondering if i am going to need the crossover anymore, also should i invest in a capacitor too?

thanks
-Mike

I think the JL's have a decent built in crossover. And most with a system that small don't find a cap necessary.

JL inboard crossovers should be fine and a general guideline is 1F/1000W for adding capacitance.

Some have used a cap for years and never had their headlights blinking to the rhythm of the music. Others have not been as lucky. I use my stock battery and have my wiring maximized and a good cap. The system runs strong with every music type. But if I were to run it with the engine off it would probably be less than 15 minutes before my battery was dead.

With the power he is considering, nothing but good wiring should be needed. Anything else without good wiring won't work.

nstymax93,

You may not need a cap with your new install, but after upgrading from Pyramid & Jensen to JL audio I would have EMTs standing by as you may go into coronary arrest
