Not enough bass!
Not enough bass!
I recently installed Infinity Kappa 652.5i's (6.75", 225 W max rating) in the front speakers and they seem to have as much bass as the crappy stockers (non-bose). I was wondering y this is...possibly due to the sh!tty JVC deck I have?

Re: Re: Not enough bass!
The Kappas especially the oversize 6.5's are designed to go into a high quality sound system. Kappa is under the impression that you will be running some sort of mid-bass driver or sub with the smaller 6.5's. They intentionally focus the quality of the 6.5 in the mid bass area and highs. I have run many aftermarket (factory size) performance speakers, and I have never come across any that match the bass sound of the factories. The sound quality is much much better in all cases, but just not as loud. I would suggest running at least one 10" sub with your system. If you want to save a little trunk space, I would suggest the JL Audio 10W6. The new style has a removable/paintable trim ring (to match your exterior). The 10W6 also requires very little air space compared to most other 10 inch subs.

Make sure the polarities on the speakers are hooked up correctly. If not, the bass from both speakers will cancel each other.
