help installing 5.25" mb quart

i have a pair of mb quart 5.25 coaxials from a previous car. they cost me $250 so i want to do something with them. I know my 97 max is 6 1/2" but these speakers are too expensive to waste. i was thinking of using them in the rear. Is this a good idea or should i just sell them and buy some 6 1/2" speakers. will there be a big difference in sound between the two sizes to make me want 6 1/2?

Difference in sound shouldn't be very bad, you can either get adapters from crutchfield or make your own....

How old are they? What model? If you sell them and get the 6 1/2 it will make some difference, depending on what you get.

i think they are the rkc series. they do sound good because i had them in my toyota about a year and a half ago. they were in there for about 2mo then i sold that car. now i am just trying to do something with them. so you reccomend i just get an adapter and use them in the rear

I was just saying you could make them fit if you wanted too...buying new speakers is always fun though....

i would agree, buying new speakers is fun and having a nice set of the smae size/brand of speaker is nice, i bought 2 sets of kenwood excelon 6 1/2's for mine and im happy with them, their not the best high end like 600 component sets but their nice with 2 12's
