Whats up people. I gotta question for everyone. Where can I get the JBL stealth box for my 95 GLE??? I have seen numerous posts on it and decided I might go with that instead of an infinity kappa perfect 12. I also want to add a Pioneer DD head unit a profile amp(not sure yet what amp I want) and replace th speakers in the front and back I was thinking mabey pioneer or polk speakers. By the way I was wondering I blew out on eof my speakers in the front where can I get it fixed or replaced and how much would it cost??? it is one of the 6.5's. One more stupid question for y'all what size are the tweeter speakers in the front of my car since I have th bose system I know I have to replace everything so I need to know what size they are. Thank you in advance for any help

Actually it JL Audio, not JBL.

And while some on here may not like JL, find a local retailer who's authorized to sell JL. Be carefull buying online as JL does have strick rules against selling they're products online

I agree - Get from an authorized dealer, perhaps one willing to give you a fair price on it.

I had one, and it was awesome. (Selling my car, that's the only reason I didn't keep it). On top of everything else, the thing has a great resale value too! (I sold it here, and shoulda coulda woulda asked for more money! :-)

Most good component tweeters nowadays are small, and should fit just fine (Polk, Boston, etc.). I'd vote for Polk over Pioneer, personally. I also know that the fanatics over in newsgroup rec.audio.car generally recommend the DEI 3065 as far as budget component speakers. (approx $200 a pair)

Regarding your damaged factory Bose speaker, I bet if you posted a "wanted" ad in the "Parts" forum, someone who's upgraded their Bose Stereo would sell you theirs.

Don't get a Profile amp; that's low-grade stuff.

It's probably just fine...

Keep in mind we're a bunch of perfectionists, so we'll go off tangent, and debate which unit is THE single best anyhow anywhere, rather than just saying, "Oh, that one's pretty good". It's just how we are... :-)

So, to answer your question.... I bet it's pretty good.

I like Clarion myself,

And they make a couple of DD units. 1 is around $400, the other about $1400 as it has a built in LCD panel. But it will really depend on if you like it or not.

Why go DD when you can put two SD's in that space? Had to throw that out there. Or use that extra space for something extra? Hey Whitemax, have you tried out the SPS speakers that are advertised at the place you recommended for Dynaudio? I was thinking a pair in the area just below the center vent as a center channel. Will take up a lot less room than the pair of Dynaudio 6 1/2's I was contemplating.

I haven't myself,

But I've talked to a couple people who have used them, and they liked them alot. I think they have a demo pair on sale for like $250. They would be great I think for a center channel becuase of the frequency range. I thought about using one built into a custom pod attatched to the rear view mirror, facing the windshield , so it would reflect of the windshied, giving a little wider front soundstage. But since i don't have the equipment for a center channel, I scratched the idea. Peter(the owner) could give you better info on them than I could.

I've got to quit getting off the topic of the original post. I'll try to remember that name, Peter.
