Install

can anyone help me install a bazooka sub with an amp? i heard that you have to hook it up to the back of the head unit but i have also heard that you can wire it straight to the rear speakers. by the way i have the stock bose in a 96 and the sub is going in the trunk.

you can hook it up to the bose system. All you gotta do is buy a line-level converter(like $20-30) and connect it to the wires going to the rear speaker. You will need to drop the amp down off the speaker to get the wires.

Actually the Bazooka Powered subs have high level inputs on them. I think if you get your connection after the Bose system amp (at the speaker) you should be fine. I could be wrong but I seem to recall this being the case. Fellas????

No Actually you do need a line converter, I keep forgetting that d**n Bose system has to to be either bypassed or an adpter must be used. My bad

actually, I would try that. If the amp has high level inputs, it might work. I've never tried it myself. Just tap off the speaker, NOT the input of the amp.
