Bel 985

Anybody have this radar detector. I want a V1 but its just a little to much $. Its between the passport 8500 and the bel 985. I can get the 985 for about $50 cheaper but I can't seem to find a hardwire kit for it. If someone can let me know if there is a kit available for the 985 and how the detector compares to the passport 8500 it would be appreciated. Matt

Check out my webpage. I have instructions on how to hardwire a Bel985. I like it cause it's SUPER-SENSITIVE in highway mode, and minimizes the false alarms in Autoscan mode. My friend's V-1 sets off more false alarms than mine. But the direction-finder is an awesome feature.

Since the Bel985 comes with 2-power cords, you can use one in another car & hardwire the other.

The cheapest price I found was at www.discountcell.com

Plus they offer, next-day shipping for the same as ground.

ok after reading some reviews it seems the passport 8500 has the edge. Is it worth the extra $30 it would cost me for it? Matt
