i've got a bel vector 985 radar detector....ever since my viper 690xv was installed, the radar continually goes off on Ka band..usually around level 4-6....i haven't used it in weeks because of this - i dont know if the alarm has anything to do with it, but that was when it started, and the radar detector worked fine for the last 5 or 6 months - false alarms here and there but never anything like this, it's definitely unusable at this point...if anyone can offer any suggestions, that would be fantastic - thanks in advance

Why not try your radar detector in another car? I doubt that your alarm could trigger the detector. Remember that the radar detector detects frequencies/signals and therefore it will go off. Possibly a new store by you? Do you live in an area where they have one of those 'THIS IS HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING' signs? The alarm detects motion, shock, etc. It sounds like a faulty detector to me...

Yea, I was thinking faulty detector too, though it did work fine for the last few months after purchased new. It's weird, one day it just started going nuts on Ka band - stays on alert my whole 40 minute drive to work, and basically any time and any place that I drive, it's stuck on Ka band. I'll try it out in another car and if it's doing the same thing, I guess I'll hit up Bel for warranty repair, hope they have good service. Thanks
