Only one sub is firing! Dead channel on amp? (long)

Ok, I have my stock Bose with 2 12" jlw3 dual 4-0hms, powered by the old fosgate 500.a2. Only one of my subs is hitting so i switcheed the subs to see if one was blown, it wasn't though. So then I rechecked all the connections and everything looks good to me. I have a feeling that one of the channels is gone, does anyone have any ideas? i have owned this setup for over three years and never a problem until now. The thing that really sucks is that I didn't notice it for a while and now one of the subs is on its way out because it is popping a little , even at low volumes. Should I bridge my amp, that is what someone told me, to see if the channel is dead, but I think they are already bridged?? The positive wire is run from the left and the negative from the right, then they are crimped to the wire running from each speaker. Is this bridged or in series? I can't find my owners manual for the amp either, otherwise I would have figured this out my now. If anyone has any idea what it might be, pleez help me

you were on the right track when you swapped the speakers to check the speaker. Now, swap the inputs. Take the two audio cables and swap them on the inputs of the amp. If the problem stays on the same speaker, it's the amp. If the problem travels over to the speaker, then it's not getting a proper input into that channel

I switched the speaker inputs and the same speaker is still playing, but the distortion is in it now. WTF, should I try anything else?

Sounds like your amp may be damaged. What kind of amp is it? You think it might be bridged...have you tried hooking the subs up to the channels separately?(one sub to the + and - of one channel, same on the other channel) Either way, it does sound like your amp is in trouble.
