7" Microvision Tv Install was a Biotch!!
Just want to get a guage of how many people who have actually bought this screen ran into the same problems as I. I've been looking around, and I really haven't found too many posts from people who have had to modify the screen in order for it fit.
I've read posts from one or two members who stated this, but with as many screens as RedMax has sold since then, I find it hard to believe No One Else has ran into the same problem. Im one of em, and although Im not the most electonically inclined member of the org, I gave myself at the very least 3 or so hours to see if Fitment was physically possible WITHOUT modification. I've come to the conclusion that IN MY CASE it was not. I mean, IT WOULD FIT, but not without bending the dash piece inward, creating an unsightly gap, which simply would not due for me.
Please tell me that there are other members here who have experienced the same thing as I have. Thus far, I HAVE been able get the monitor to fit. Still needs a little tweeking, but all the same looks really clean. I've no real gripe about its quality or operability. One can't deny, that the screen DOES look Bad A$$ when enstalled properly....its just that the installment was such a BiOtch!!
I've already PM'd Redmax about it, but looks like he hasn't been able to get back to me. All I really wanna know is why is it that some Max owners have a smooth uneventfully install, while others it would appear ABSOLUTELY MUST modify the screen plastic for proper installation.

All the 4th gens dashes are the same...When I did Redmax's tv it took a little while, but now I do them in about 45 minutes. No problems, and no bending. Slight trimming of the tv bezel thats all.

BTW I have done 15+ of these...

Man, I dont know what you did, but if you take one side of the brackets off or at least loosen them, but the screen in place and then tighten the brackets back up... It took me all of 15 minutes. If you didnt want to bend the plastic any you could shave a little off.... I agree my plastic is bent a little bit because i was being lazy and didnt feel like cutting, but there is no gaps or anything and my screen looks great!

That is all I needed to hear. THERE ARE members who saw it necessary to do some cutting, or "trimming" in your case. TamAtoe, TaMOToe, it's all the same. For whatever reason some people need to modify the "tv bezel". I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't crazy and truly miss'n some sort of vital tip or technique. As long as I know that at times it is necessary, it makes me feel a hell of a lot better for having to do so myself.
By the way, what did you guys that had to cut/trim use to do the job. I painstakenly completed the job with a free hand razor. Took absolutely FOREVER to finish, But I DID FINISH
