car alarms question

Has anyone ever heard of a company called mannix?
I found their ad on ebay and they had a link to a site

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...category=14934

www.MannixUSA.Com

The alarm looks interesting but why is this one only 200$ and the viper alarms run for double with the same features?

I also found a lynx alarm... does anyone have experience with this one?

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...category=14934

I know viper is the best, but if another alarm that is less expensive has the same features, then how do you know what the difference is?

Im basically looking for alarm with some sort of impact sensor, starter and possible the two-way feature.

Hey adroga,

I don't know if this is gonna be of any use, but I bought my alarm from CommandocarAlarms.com and I have had nothing but good things to say about it.
The guy who installed mine was a personal friend and he used to have his own install business. He has installed anything and everything from sophisticated Ferrari alarms to the very sensitive BMWs. He advised me just to go with this brand because the basic 'guts' of the module are made by GNU industries which sells to other bigger name companies. Don't quote me on this, but I think it might have been Clifford.
But take a look at that site. I am very happy with mine, I have remote start, shock sensor, and all the other gizmos that are most popular. My shock sensor is set pretty high so that if you go up to my Max and kick the tire, the alarm will sound. The remote start feature is really fun. I can sit in a restaurant and start my car by the remote and if someone is near it they will be like and looking for someone inside. Scared the crap out of this one lady the other day at Kmart lmao But anyways, the only problem I had with the remote start was that I need to change my plugs and turn the starter timer up to 5 secs. Altogether, I believe it is a real solid piece. I think they have the 2way transmitter thing also! Here's the manufacturer's site commando alarms

Have fun!

I'm scheduled to have an autopage 750lcd installed, but I might back out. No turbo timer on it, which I think is essential for my 5sp car (strange logic, but just agree with me).

I really wanted to Lynx 2000r. I would even settle for it's predecessor, the Aladdin 2000. If you get the lynx, get the international version cuz it's got long range and in-cabin temp for the same price. www.gopme.com

I backed outta the Autopage. Don't goto Stereo One in City of Industry! They didn't have it in stock and tried to give me a Galaxy 5000RS alarm, which I know is inferior in quality. Tried to "give" it to me at the same price. I asked for a higher model and they said no. HOrrible customer service, feels like a scam. I walked away.

DEI or Lynx for me. Need to make some calls.
