Alpine CDA-7998 Has No Amp?

I would like to buy the CDA-7998, but it says it has no internal component amp. the one model below this one does have an amp. what does this mean? is it talking about a small amp that fits in the head unit? i have a 1500 watt MTX amp, but that's not it right? thanks in advance.

No internal amp means that you will need a 4 channel or 2 2channel amps to power your inside speakers. They will not run off of the HU.

Duh vinh...like most headunits list 50x4 60x4 etc...this model has all the RCA outputs to use an Outboard amp.

To put it simple.. Most radio have a small built-in amp that would provide maybe 40 to 60 watts to each channel.. But the model you mentioned has no internal amp.. Meaning it will send out an audio signal, but it is your job to amplify it.. To do this you have to buy an amp, like mentioned above either 2 or 4 channels.. Hope this helps..

yes the 7998 has three outputs. front rear sub. you should buy a 4 channel amp to run the speakers in your car and hook the sub output to you sub amp

stock speakers? you may want to upgrade to aftermarket speakers. then you can match the amp for the speakers
