How to mount aftermarket tweeters???
How do you guys mount aftermarket tweeters in your OEM tweeter location (I had BOSE).
This is basically what my tweeter looks like. It's not this one, but exactly like it - it's 1". It has options to be mounted invisible behind the OEM BOSE A-Pillar grill, flushmounted with a larger 2.5" smooth cutout, or angle mounted (swivels) with 2 trim pieces, one locks into the other (like most have).
(Look at the TW-25 picture for both visible mounting options.

The OEM BOSE tweeter seems to be fastened on by a metal bracket. Will that bracket fit this tweet? The components I got (CDT CL-61) came with 3M tape, but I am worried if I hit a bump or something, they will fall down.
I guess I will just keep the OEM BOSE Tweeter Grill, cuz it looks aight, but I was thinking about finding some non-Bose Maxima A-Pillar trim pieces, and flush-mounting the tweeter (I'd use mine, but the grill is large and would leave some opening in it), but the flushmount won't really fit (A-pillar trim is too curvy)).
Also, where'd you guys put your component x-overs?? I thought about flush mounting them in the door panel, but the only 2 options would be by your hip (when door is closed) or up next to dash, making them only visible when the door is opened (stealth).
Lastly, how did you run the wires through the doorjambs? Did you just tape new wire to the bose wire and pull it through -- or did you just cut and re-crimp and re-use the bose wire for your new speakers?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin

I just replaced my bose and I mounted the tweeters on the door panels because they werent gonna fit in the stock bose tweeter location on the A pillar. Im gonna try to get ahold of some non bose a pillars also.

Ahh, that sucks that your OEM tweeter locations are way down at your knees. Luckily mine are in the A-pillars, above dash level, but I don't know how to mount them correctly (don't want them falling off with just 3M tape holding them up).

Thats not my OEM location, I couldn't put my aftermarket tweets in the pillars cuz they are too deep and I didn't want to drill a hole in my door panel so I put them down there for now. if you don't have a HU with time correction I wouldn't put them where mine are. As for the 3m tape, that stuff is pretty damn sticky I doubt you would have a problem.

Oh ok, cool. Well my tweets will fit in my A-pillars, I just need to know how to mount them. I guess if no one else has any input, I'll be making some kind of bracket out of ABS plastic and screwing them in that way.. *shrug*

tweeters
I was able to mount my MB Quart tweeters in the stock location. They fit fine behind the factory a-pillar grill. http://www.geocities.com/dinograz2/maximastereo.html
