longest install ever

I just finished the longest install ever in my 5th gen. Nothing spectacular, just a Kenwood mp3 6022 hu, infinity reference components up front, infinity reference 2 ways (6002i?) in the back...the four speakers powered by Profile CL640 and 2 Kicker Solo Baric 10" L5 in the trunk powered by a Profile CL1200...

Used that diy method for installing speakers, annihilated the stock speaker and used the bracket. I ran new wiring throughout the whole car, and have 2 caps installed totalling 1.5F. all wiring from knukonceptz. so far it hits good...the maxima seems to have a lot of trunk and rear deck rattles though. Hopefully I can save up and get a class d for the solos...

Yeah, took me awhile, too, installing my stereo in my 2K. Had to run all new wiring to each door. The driver's door was a pain in the a$$, because I had to feed my speaker wire thru a "pass-through" hole. That rubber boot in the door jamb is impossible to feed thru with it being bolted on the door.( I did not know which wire was from the speaker at the driver's kick panel.) On the passenger's side, I figured it out. As far as removing the Bose headunit, I had to drill the screws out to remove it from the bracket. Why does'nt Nissan just keep it simple?

Simple ain't in their dictionary. I don't understand, I've owned Hondas and Mazdas and have worked on Toyotas and germans as well, and my max (my first nissan) was as hard to work on as the european imports imho

Nissan/Datsun has ALWAYS been difficult for stereo installation. "Back in the day" when the Datsun B210 was around, you had to drop the steering column to replace the head unit. My back still hurts from all of those.
