Alpine CVA1005 Monitor Opening Problem

Hey Guys,

For all of you CVA1005 fans out there I have a question to ask you. My CVA1005 monitor decided not to open automatically anymore (at least without me pulling it out of the dash 2inches and then it takes over from there and folds up). When the headunit is closed and I hit the open button it just clicks, I then have to pull outwards on the outer most rails and it then opens up. It seems that something is blocking the rails internally and not that a burnt up engine is stoping it. I have read that Alpine charges $100 for repair and takes 2 months, and also that the repair parts are on backorder because this happens so much. So, my question is, Has anyone taken apart their CVA1005 and successfully fixed it or has anyone had a similar experience/fix?

Thanks
