2-ch vs Mono amp? Help!!!
Hi guys...still working on the system.
I was looking into getting a 800 watt Audiobahn amp to power two 10" (here's the site http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3056456033 ) subs. Which amp (2channel amp vs. Mono D amp) would be better for those speakers?

Class D is a more efficient amp. It has less of an amp draw, which means it will be easier on your alternator. You have to be careful in matching the power the amp puts out with the impedance of the subs. A lot of the class D amps will put out the most power at either 1 or 2 ohms, so be sure your subs can be wired for that setup.
The subs that i'm interested in ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3056456033 ) are at 3ohm or 6ohm operation. How do I set up lets say two of these speakers to a Mono D amp? I was looking into a JBL 600.1D amp. I'm really on a budget. Can anyone help?
if you're going the mono amp route, make sure the amp can take levels below 2 ohms. Since each sub is DVC 6 ohms, you can wired them into parallel. once wired in parallel, your amp will see 1.5 ohm load. most amps are stable down to 2 and a few down to 1. i believe that JBL amp isn't stable below 2 ohms.

Well I was able to get a hold of 2 JL 10W3 D4 and I'm putting them in a sealed box. I was looking at the JBL 600.1 mono amp. Will that amp be good enough to handle those subs at high volumes? And how should I connect them? What's the difference from connecting speakers in a series or parallel?
