Sure did! I did that to eliminate noise and other possible problems when using those terminal cups. I prefer it this way, the box is super air tight and its made out of 3/4" MDF.

I know, something to do with tripod. Easy work around, you can right-click and save on the desktop. Then you can play it from there.

Dayuuum!!!! That thing looked sick. Look like a horse is stuck inside the box trying to kick its way out of the box! I found one of my old TECHNO BASS CD. I'll pop that in and start taking some video clips tonite.

I tried taking some vids last nite but it was too dark and I don't have a camera light to use. I was going to take some this morning but it had been raining all day so far. I will take some when the rain lets up but I have to find a spot where I can crank my system while taking vids because I can't do this at the parking lot at work.

haha i know what you mean about trying to tune bass, you cant do it without drawing attention. i saw your little vid of the speaker bumping and from the looks of that cone movement your moving a good amount of air which = plenty of bass.

Thanks, I'm only pushing it with 300w RMS @ 2 ohms. I'm saving up on an Arc KAR900.1, 750x1 @2 ohms.

I uploaded a better video (15.4mb), a little over a minute long. Its recommended to right-click and save it to your computer first before playing it. The sub was moving so much air that you can hear flapping noise thru the tiny mic in the video cam, sounds like distortion but the sound is clean and deep in real life!

I'm not quite sure, I tried to take a good look but the cone moves so fast for me to be sure. I think the rubber surround taps the grill on certain bass notes. I linked another friend of mine so he can take a look in the video. BTW, that is an RF grill made for that sub.

Did you see the other link I posted? That whole website has nothing but sub vids. It's crazy. They even have a section for those Off Brand Piece of Trash Junk Turd Knockoff Excuse for a sub. Some of them have insane excursions but they are running outside of the box (freeair) so I know they are pushing them beyond mechanical limits.

I see that, I was going to upload it to the other website that I told you about but I prefer this one better. The woofervids.com server is too slow. Hey, I seen lots of vids of subs outside the box being fed insanely low frequencies making the cones do all sorts of stuff. Aren't they afraid that they're going to push the woofers to failure or maybe that's what they are trying to do. Oh btw, talking about the low of low named brands. Check this out. Oh and this one too...bye bye Sony. :P

Hey you should upload your vids!

yeah, they do a lot of free-airing to get the sub really moving without any cushion of air holding it back. they can easily make the sub reach its mechanical limit. i wouldn't do it though

yeah, i got two vids up there. vid with old box vid with new box

Ah! So that is you. I've seen those vids earlier. Since you posted the links, I couldn't stop watching the vids. I hardly got any work done today cuz of it, not that I'm blaming you for it.

I just found my bass tones CD last nite. If I get outta work early enough today and there's still sunlight, I'm gonna take some vids to see how the sub moves with it. It starts at 70hz all the way down to 10 cycles...yikes!

Ok fellas. The system is going in on Fri. I went with...

Alpine 9833 w/ xm
Alpine MRV540 (mids and highs)
Alpine 6 1/2" Seperates ( I couldn't afford the Diamond Hex/D9's)
Diamond Audio 600.1 x 2 (one per sub)
Diamond Audio TDX 12's

I will post pics prob next Mon.

Who did you get the price from on the HEX/D9s? And what about the D6? Which 600.1 are you using? The D3 or the dropped D5?

I suppose I should clarify. The Hex price was solid. I had, however, previously purchaced the Alpines(about 1.5 yrs ago). I couldn't absorb the cost of both (all four sets) in the budget for the completed system.
I am using the D5600.1. He just got a shippment of the new version and cut me a fantastic deal on the two amps.

I will PM you with the prices.

I just saw my mistake. The new amps he was reffering to were the 1200.1 went to a 1500.1. He was sold out of both. Lucky for me.

P.S....battery? cap? alt?.....which model Alpine separates?

Friend of mine powered 2 D5 1200.1s and 1 D5 600.2 off a Stinger 10 farad cap and a Stinger SPV70. Had plenty of power to his 2 ported tdx 15s and Hex components. One of the loudest systems ive heard.

Little Intestate for now. When that goes I will upgrade to a yellow top.

I will upgrade the amps later. I was tired of having no sound. A new alternater will be needed to handle the newer 1500.1's. I just didn't have enough money to finish it the way I wanted to. Thus the D5600.1's.

Yes SQ was an issue. I don't want ghetto sick loud with tons of clipping and problems. The plus side of these subs is they can get stupid loud with enough power and will still have the ability to stay clear.

They will be ported. tuned to 32Hz.

Thanks, I can't wait to show it off. I hope I am not dissappointed.
