Show Us Whats In Your Trunk...
Looks good.......I always like seeing different kinds of innovative space-saving ideas for subwoofer systems. The only concerns I have with having your amp located where it is now is water or moisture just incase you open your trunk while its raining, and protecting the amp from shock just in case you have some thing in your trunk that moves around in it as you are driving.

About the amps: you are right, but the guy who did this job needed a lot of supervision and I didn't know where else to put them.
I already covered the planet audio amp with ice from a cooler full of beer that turned over when I made a sharp left! you should have seen me and my buddies getting out of the car and drying the **** out with the beach towels.
The setup also made it back all the way from Guadalajara Mexico, with all my luggage and belongings on top of them: 3000 miles! with gone O2 sensors and ks.

If your box is short enough to have amps mounted on its top surface w/o interfering with the trunk tension bars, then that is your best bet. Or you can move the box forward a bit, put a piece of carpeted plywood and fasten it behind the rear seats, and then mount your amps there. Just make sure that you have the box moved forward enough to allow room for the amp to dissipate heat.

I rented an 05 Maxima for design purposes and have all the dimensions for the 05. I was just hoping it would fit the 2004 also.
I decided to design a box for the Maxima because of all the emails I get from owners asking me if I can make a box for their car.
One guy that inquired about a Maxima enclosure recommended this forum to me if I had any questions.
thanks mike
Well it's not in a Max.. but what the heck. I've got 3 JL Audio 10 inch W6s in a custom fiberglass enclosure being powered by a Kicker KX1200.1 in my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. All was installed using StreetWires 0 gauge wiring. Pics Below! Oh and my truck is for sale. Email me if you're interested in the system, the truck, or both! babybash0309@hotmail.com

Nice....I've seen that amp rack design on several vehicles before. I have always wondered how they made those angled panels. I was thinking that one would used some metal L brackets, bent them to that angle, then mount the wood panels onto them. I was thinking of doing the same in my trunk. How did you do yours?

its actually 2 set metal bracket weld together: one set of holes for the screws are made higher than the other hence the different level. great trunks

Y'all can yell at me if you want, but this is a thread about what's in your TRUNK. I for one have been subscribed to this thread since its inception and have enjoyed keep up with every new post, but it WOULD be nice if it stayed somewhat on topic.
Just a suggestion.

Nice setup in that pathy too

Looks great. With such a nice unit I would not use the equalizer... you have enough calibration in your HU to get the right tonal balance.
The equalizer adds noise by having another electronic component in the signal path. It also makes the amps work harder if you boost it too much. Keep the HU and get good amps and cables.

I used to have that EQ a long time ago, in my first Black Emerald 4th gen. That's a retro-looking EQ compared to your HU. That EQ is pretty much useless considering the kind of HU you have. That HU can do way more than what that EQ can do. Plus having an outboard EQ could introduce additional signal noise. But it looks good!
