Hey guys,

Check it out, i helped my friend put in our first system. Its all decked out, a New Alpine (# 2nd best, nO LCD) component speakers front + some in back, a kicker 600 sumfin, not sure on teh #'s plus 2 10's Bostons subs...
After 12 hours...and some messing around, WITH EVERTHING,,,PERFECTION... subs sound great..
We installed in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, was pretty easy, not the best job, but almost all the wires are hidden =D So check it out, its on to my system.
Here is what i am going for, lets here what chu think

CD-Player Pioneer Premire 920r. Top of the line
RF(questionable) 800a2 amp
Subs= 2=10's Infinity Kappa Perfects
Sub Zero Box
gunna leave stock speakers......
and buy an adapter....here is a little questions for SWEETSOUND, was building that box really harD? i wanna do the same thing.
and 2, if i am gunna get that big of system, i was actualyl thinking about leaving that stock deck, and just do a high/low line converter off the rear speakers...then just going into the amp w/that ...
Lets hear what you guys think?
Audio Shiat is da BOMB

For people who have subs, whats the worst rattling thing in the car? is tehre bad rattles, how is teh spoiler on da SE's, or spoilers in general, lemme know

If you are going with the Kappa Perfects build a box or have one built for the specs on the sub. It will sound much better that way, prebulit boxes are to "universal" and can sometimes take away from a subs performance. For specs on the box requirements check out our site http://www.infinitysystems.com As far as the amp, Kicker is good, you should check out the JBL Power Valve series. They give tons of power for a great price, that and they are very clean. Plus if you plan on keeping the stock head unit the JBL has high level inputs that sound the same as low level inputs. That plus it has "smart turn on" so no remote turn on wire is required which is a plus since the factoy head unit doesn't have one so you need to tap the ignition wire and run a relay switched trigger.

Well...

Wow, your system's pretty nice... the bass part looks
a lot like mine. Still I think you should rethink the
800a2. I had either the option of getting an 800a2 or
an 800a4 for my Perfect 10's. I opted for the 800a4
because it puts out 400x2 at 4 ohms. Perfect for the subs.
On the other hand, if you buy the 800a2, you'll have
impedance/low power problems. If i remember right,
it only puts out 200x2 at 4 ohms. You'd have to bridge
it but its not possible with 2 4 ohm subs..... blah
blah blah.... anyway, the 800a2's a butt to rewire
so there.. ok I'm shutting up. Good luck, like your system!

well, to tell you the truth, the bass will be great, but you will lack in the highs. sure you can start by using the stock speakers, but if you want sound quality, i would switch to aftermarket. with the bose, you would have to bypass all the factory amps, which is a pain in the ***. what i did when i put my system, is i ran all new wires. from the aftermarket unit to the new speakers. i did not cut one wire in the car. that is the best way to go, if you want to put it back stock later. putting new speakers and wiring is time consuming, and a little more expensive, but you will be very happy with the results.

if you have some experience building boxes it will be tough but can be done. i didnt actually build my box..the shop built it for me for $500!!! kick's were another $600 but i took care of everything else like sound deadening etc. i would recommend do what you can yourself and maybe get a frined that knows what he is doing to help. if its really hard let a shop do it for you..theyll do it once and do it right (hopefully). laters...btw. i updated my page today..check it out
