putting subs back in tomorrow.

I'm planning on reodin my trunk. I'm going to mount an amp opn each side of the trunk closest to the rear. I guess the best way is to mount a piece of mdf behind the carpet to the metal and then the amp to the mdf. I'm also going to mount my 2 subs as clsoe to the ski hatch as possible. To mount them with l brackets, can I drill down into the metal or should i put mdf under the carpet?

I don't have a good drill that will go though metal so I think I will puncter a hole with a nail first. Also, my jack is going to be un accessable isn't it?

I would steer away from the jack side. As soon as you take the jack out or cover it up you will probably get a flat out in the middle of nowhere!

I don't know about the 4th gen, but on my 3rd gen, I mounted my amp on the side and do not have any access problems (I can still change my tail lights).

I know it's hard to see, but I drilled into the inner wall on the RH side and I put screws into the metal bracket on the LH side.

Good luck
