aarrgghh - sub install help

hey all,

now, first off, I'm lame w/audio stuff, but here goes. the max I bought already had an amp, and sub/box installed. the other day the sub dies, so I order a new sub online. it arrives today and I go to install, thinking, ok take the 2 wires already in the box from the amp and plug into the sub. easy, right?

well, the apline diagram to wire has the 2 amp wires going to the positive and neg on the sub, but there are a pair of pos/negs on the sub. there is what seems to be a wire bridging the other set of pos/neg. do I need to bridge these, or can I just wire the amp to the pos/neg pair and leave the other sub pair open??

does that make any sense at all? please help!

thanks,

das

It sounds like you have a DVC (dual voice coil) sub.

Check this out to see how you want to wire it. There are some options available, but it depends on your amp. There are others here that can help you more.

What was wrong with your old sub? Normally they don't "die."
