How to prevent antenna from going up all the time?
Just put in my pioneer 750mp and everytime the unit is on the antenna comes up even if i am using the cd player instead of radio. when i had my bose unit, when i had the cd player on the antenna would not come up when the unit is on. is there anyway besides disconnecting the antenna adapter that i can disable the antenna from coming up when the cd player is on and playing a cd, not the radio?

Yeah, to get around the antenna from going up all the time is that the headunit must have a seperate lead for antenna control when only the radio is on. This is an extra lead in addition to the remote-on lead. Most higher-end head units have this option. Another way, like someone said is to install a switch in line with the power lead of the antenna.

I have the same exact radio, very nice i must say
anyways, my antenna goes up whenever the deck is turned on in cd player mode or in radio, but when i turn it off it goes back down.
i bought a antenna adapter from circuit city and it works fine i have it on the power antenna plug in spot

do you have a blue and a blue/white lead coming from your aftermarket deck? if so, the blue needs to go to your power antenna lead - that will only send 12v out to the antenna relay when the receiver is on. when you are listening to a cd, it will drop the antenna. the blue/white lead is your remote turn on lead, and whenever the deck is on, it will shoot 12V, and if it's hooked up to your power antenna, it's going to keep it up whenever the radio or cd is on. hope that helps...

With the Pioneer headunit you have (and the Pioneer headunit I have) the only way to control the antenna is to install a switch. I put a toggle switch inside the pop out ash tray in the dash and it works great. Its hidden too and I can control whether the antenna is up or not while the radio is on.
