What spot to run power wire through firewall?

i have a 97 and right now i am running my wire underneath the car up through the spare tire well. i want to run it through the firewall instead and go under the carpet so no one can clip my wires on the outside. anyways, is there a hole in the firewall where it can go through or will i need to drill one out?

looking into the engine compartment, look at the firewall next to the brake master cylinder. You should find a rubber grommet that you can poke through or remove.

when you say looking into the engine compartment....do you mean by looking into the engine compartment when the hood is popped open or looking at it from under the steering wheel?

Open your hood and look at the motor...then look at the master cylinder and the look at the firewall to the left it the MC.

OK, now you are making me nervous. the master cylinder is the thing that hold brake fluid...located on the drivers side opposite of the steering wheel.

I need to find a place on the firewall to run a 4ga. through on my 2nd gen.

For the life of me I can't find a decent place.

I don't have a problem with drilling. It just seems there is stuff in the way wherever I can fit a drill.

u could always go thri the door jam. i always do it that way and run it under the ruber trim. i don't know about 4 ga though. but from battery side of engine go towards the driver side door and then u can go into the car. and if u r worndering i have never had my wire ppinched. 1 think i have 6 gauge. i would test it with 4 before wiring it all up to make sure.
