Kenwood KDC-X979 Sub Out Help

I got this deck today and promptly headed to teh garage to install it.

Hooked up all wiring and found that the deck has the following pre-outs (RCA's).

L/R Front
L/R Rear
1 Sub Out
1 Center

I have an amp wired in mono to 1 12" Sub. The Amp requires 2 Inputs (L/R to give the sub full power in bridged mode. (PPI PC2300 Amp).

But there's only ONE Sub Out jack! The Center channel I thought maybe can be used as a Sub Out, but it appears that I can't even turn it on after looking in the manual.

So what do I do to make this work? Is using a splitter on the Sub Out acceptable? Why would they design Kenwood's top of the line deck this way?

The Deck has Dolby Surround - does that have something to do with it?

Why do you want to split the sub-out? Subs are only one channel speakers, I think.

Because the amp does not have a function to allow 1 channel to put full signal for bridged mode. I am running the sub as bridged. (Bridged = L/R Channel combined as 1 output)

Basically, with only 1 input on the amp, the sub is 1/2 as loud as it should be.

Seems like using a Y cable would work, one female-two male.
