I wanted to install a remote start on my 00 GXE 5speed, but don't exactly know what the install entails. I do know that I need an extra key to disable the immobilizer and a clutch relay, but that is all I know. Is there a write up of some kind that I would find helpful? I tried looking for one but so far came up empty handed. Has anyone done this DIY?

 

i got it done before professionally and i came to the conclusion that it cannot be done yourself, atleast thats my opinion. not worth the time to take all the interior panels off

 

You need to tap the nuetral safety switch wire under the hood, thus preventing the car from starting while in gear. Can also be found at the ECU color is green/white.

Depending on what kind of alarm dealer installation may be required. (DEI:Viper,Clifford,Python) Furthermore these systems are Not designed for use in manual trannys, and typically dealers will not do it. I have many times against my better judgement.
