Opinions on Hifonic amps?

Seems like a lot of people with power hungry subs use Hifonic amps to power them. Are they good amps? Anyone here using them?

I went from the 1500D (loved it) to the 2200D. Both run/ran at 1 ohm with no problems. I have a stock alt too.

If I'm not mistaken, Hifonics doesn't do the birth sheet thang....

They are good amps if you are looking for raw power and if it fits your flexibility needs, on the flipside, the adjustability/crossover controls suck- not a real refined product, obvious from price- I've seen a few posts in audio forums indicating that a tested 1000D did not put out rated power

so there's no real way to see how much those amps are really putting out? for the price, they seem like a good choice.

Nah, not really, unless you get a bench test. I compared my 1500D to my Memphis 16-ST1000D (1100 watts@1 ohm), and the Brutus caused my subs to hit just as clean, but harder, and no one argues that Memphis doesnt put out its rated power.

The 1000D is the only I've seen in question- I say they are good amps, and if it fits your budget even better, they do put out plenty of power and are 1ohm stable

I personally would rather spend a lil' more and get Kicker or RF>>(i didn't just say that )much more refined products

The 1500D seems to be a econo-favorite amongst the caraudio forums crowd, must be pretty diesel
