Some people might say escort passport 8500, but I would says save up and invest yourself in a V1. A passport much is better than most of the $50 ones you get at walmart though.

if you have $250-$299 for a radar detetector, you can go for the Escort. If not, put away $20.00 a week until you get up to $400.00..then get a V1.

One VERY happy V1 user here... If you cant afford one buy an 8500 but I wouldn't trust anything else.
