just got my Viper 791xv installed (remote start/security)

just got my Viper 791xv installed (remote start/security)

this thing is amazing....pretty good distance....nice LCD display transmitter....and great for the winter....(gettin cold in MN).....the only thing i need to do now is to change the sensitivity level on the shock sensor....not sensitive enough....

...and also get use to replacing the aaa battery. I bought rechargeable batteries.
and my responder is scratched up as hell!! lol.. but i'm still happy with mines.. I bought my last year (winter) and i am glad I did.

i forgot what ur older name was but i think once u told me that u could get me a good deal on this 791xv shipped to my house. please let me know if u still can do that good deal !

like he said, get used to the batteries dieing, my friend has this alarm or a similar one, im not sure... but yeah the batteries are always dieing.

I got mine from the last GD in feb. Still havent got it installed, plan to do it thanksgiving weekend.

ANd if u are 5spd how did u hook up the remote starter? IT is illegal here for shops to do it and i have no clue on how to hook it up.

I have one, get ready to go through a sh#tload of batteries...Also I am on my third transmitter the fcking things keep breaking. I wish I went with another Alarm now.

Its the same as an auto you just have to bypass the clutch. For safety since the viper doesn't support 5spd you can get the NSS module which is like $40 (this is why I didn't get the viper). Go to sounddomain.com security forum and search for NSS and that should help you out.

i knew a guy that works at professional installer at best buy...he installed it for me....the only thing that i cant do now is park my car in gear....i have to depend on my ebrake.....thats the only downfall....after i get my sensitivity higher then everything will be perfect!!! overall very satisfied so far!

Batteries dying fast depend on what remote features you have set (backlight,vibrate0 and how often you use it. Also the remote constantly trys to communicate with car to judge the range.

As for remotes breaking, they Are covered under warranty.

For manual tranny vehicles..there Is a safe way to do it, withOut buying anything additional.

For the 5th gen, there is a write-up on my site that includes the information to do this safely (and without needing any extra parts).
