Anyone figured out bose amps?

Ok i am working on puting a computer in my car but before i start i need to know if anyone knows what wire or how to turn off and on the bose amplifiers. I want to wire my sound card from my computer directly up to the stock amps, and i know it will work but i just dont want the amps to turn on and off everything i change a song which will make a thumping sound. I know someone had hooked their bose directly up to an aftermarket cd player through the rca outputs but everything they changed songs the amps would shut off and then turn back on and make a thumping sound. If anyone has an idea of how to wire this please give me some ideas. Thanks

The whole wiring into the amps directly seems kind of like a hassle. What would be the disadvantage of getting a FM modulator or some thing to interface with the bose deck, that way you wouldn't have to cut wires and everything.

fm modulator sound quality sucks when music is important to you. :-(

not if you get the type that goes inline with you antenna and when it is turned on that is the only signal going to the deck. Also I am not positive about this but you may be able to buy a convertor to make the connection for the cd changer an audio input.

The point of wiring directly into the amps would be so that i don't have a headunit at all and control everything from my computer which will be hooked up to a touchscreen. I have auxilary inputs on my headunit but i think it would be more efficent instead of going low voltage from the computer converting it to higher in the headunit and then lower into the bose amps and then the amps amplifying it. I would be just going from low voltage from the computer directly to the amps which would amp it. I also like the idea of running without a headunit and storing all my songs on my computer. If anyone knows which wire is the "remote turn on wire" for the stock bose amps so that i can turn them on without them thumping everytime i change a song it would make this a lot easier. Thanks

I guess that works. Are you just eliminating cds all together from the driver seat? I am drawing up plans to do this but I have aftermarket everything so I won't be using BOSE anything. Right now I am trying to figure out a way to custom mount the computer in the center consloe so I can have access to the DvD drive.

Anways here are the pins on the BOSE system and what they do

Front L+R
pin 1 - Tweeter
pin 2 - Ground
pin 3 - Signal
pin 4 - Tweeter
pin 5 - Amp turn on (maybe power as well)

Rear L+R
pin 1 - ground
pin 2 - signal
pin 3 - Amp turn on (maybe power as well)
pin 4 - signal

Raio Connector
pin 1 - Front left signal
pin 2 - front left signal
pin 3 - front right signal
pin 4 - front right signal
pin 5 - power antenna
pin 6 - 12v constant
pin 7 - illumination system
pin 8 - illumination system
pin 9 - ground for front signal shielding
pin 10 - switched 12v
pin 11 - ground for rear shielding
pin 12 - amp turn on
pin 13 - rear left signal
pin 14 - reat left signal
pin 15 - rear right signal
pin 16 - rear right signal
case is ground as well

From the FSM the amps are running off a relay from the head unit which is pin 12 on the back of the stero. I think if you supplied power to pin 12 on the BOSE stero connector the relay would turn on and turn all the amps on. If you need more pins just ask.

Do you have the pin configuration for the CD-Changer input by any chance? That'd be nice also. Thanks!

Sorry no descripition of the changer in the FSM.

THe amps for the front are in the door next to the speaker, the amps in the rear are in the plastic case covering the bottom of the speaker

cool thanks for the pins, are they just the ones that come right out of my headunit then? I tried hooking it up but it still bumped everytime i changed songs, i'll just have to mess with it i guess.

96greenmax what im doing about the dvd drive problem is buying a notebook dvd cd-rw drive ($70) and getting an external usb enclosure for it ($30), That way i can put it in the dash or gove box and put the carputer in the trunk.
