Nice.

That is probably going to be my next purchase, stereo-wise. I am very happy with my Eclipse sub and the local stereo shop here will cut me a deal on the Eclipse components when I get around to buying them.

The look good, but i'd advise against mounting the crossover's in the doors. I mount all mine in the kick panels next to where your feet are.

BTW, where did you get them from?

I've had those for about 4 years. I love em!
Crossovers in footwell:

Tweeters on sail panels:

I used to have the tweeters mounted low, next to the woofers:

they sound really nice, how come i shouldnt mount them on the door? i like the fact that they are hidden and both the speakers fit in to the stock location and i didnt have to change or cut anything....conrad, my parents got em from some local shop, my parents went there to have a remote start put on my moms car, one day i went with just to check it out, pointed em out to my dad that they were cool and would sound bada$$ and then next thing i knew, they were under the tree!

Mounting the crossovers (not tweeters) in the doors exposes them to moisture and vibration. The slamming of the door could damage some of the components on the circuit board. One of my friends had problems with some of the electircal parts getting jarred right off the board when he mounted his JL crossovers in the doors.

I wanted mine visible

You could mount them anywhere. Under the seats, in the glove box, in the trunk.....

I've got the right one on the passenger kickpanel (as shown above) and I've got the left one mounted to the ECU cover on the other side of the passenger footwell. You can see it peeking out here:

are you getting some nice bass? the bose system is crap when it comes to bass. i'm thinking of getting the same component set as you.

i dont have much bass going through the comps, the gain on my 4 channel is turned almost all the way down, i leave the bass for my sub, DA TDX

2 da max, when i looked at em at the store, they were 175 marked down from 350, the store stopped selling eclipse cause i guess eclipse is biatches, wanted the store to sell like 10 times more what they were selling, so they said screw it and is not gonna sell them any more. i got lucky, full warranty, cause the store actually still carries the eclipse headunits, just not speakers

i thought people got component sets to get more bass from the speakers and highs from the tweeters. i desperately need more bass from my front speakers. my kenwoods upfront suck ***. highs are ok.

You're only going to get so much bass from a 6.5" driver. I have mine crossed over at 125Hz. I suppose I could go down to 80, but they do just fine at 125 with a 10" JL sub in the trunk.

I have 60 watts going to the Eclipses up front an 150 going to the sub. My rear speakers are some cheap Blaupunkt coaxials powered by the headunit and turned way down.

Oh, and I paid $235 for my Eclipse comps back in 2000.

my headunit doesnt have an internal amp, so i have a audiobahn 4x100 amp running the mids and highs. ive got my comps in the front and crappy pioneer coaxials in the rear, and i leave my sub for the bass, is got plenty, 1200 watts worth.

yeah, i got jl audio sub in the truck but i miss having bass in the front. i've heard stock speakers sound louder then my kenwoods.

the thing i dont get is, if i didnt have a sub woofer then my 4 speakers inside would sound like crap. the bass would just sound horrible. and these speakers are 3 way and 180 watts each powered by an amp. i thought buying aftermarket speakers was suppose to sound better then stock without a sub.

it depends on how you have em powered and what you have your settings at. mine w/o the sub sound great. crisp and clear, and since i have the gain and bass turned down, no bass. your not suppose to get HUGE bass out of a pair of 6.5"s, they dont have enough draw to produce bass. you are looking at you interiors to do something they arent suppose to do.if you get the speakers set up right, they will sound better than stockl, it also depends on the speakers themselves.

what brand are your interiors?

i have my driverside one in the seatbelt thing because i already have too many relays for fog lights and strobes in the kick panel. my other xover is in the passenger side kick panel.

I had a pair of PointSource coax's a couple of years ago, they were pretty good for coax's, but just couldnt hear anything in the rear over the sub. I decided to put another set of comps. back there. As for eclipse components, I havent heard em, but would assume they aren't too bad.

I have some *** infinity speakers and they clear! I mean clarity to the like the 10th degree. They aren't powered from my hu but they have a 4 channel amp attached to them they sound very clear for the interior and then the 2 rockford 12" subs in the back and I kept the orginal 8" bose in there as well. sound great! I love to have the clarity for the interior and save all the bass for the subs.

Yes, they aren't too bad. The PointSource's rival a lot of component sets. They just weren't loud enough, and didn't have enough mid-bass. To each their own.
