The battery doesn't really charge at idle. That's how the charging system guards against overcharging the battery. Your best bet is to find a charger and hook it up overnight. If it is not accepting or holding a charge then the batt is dead.

Most likely no. What exactly is the problem again? Is the car not starting, or is it failing to start right after you shut it off. You also have to remember that a battery has some self healing qualities. If it is healthy, it will naturally come back to life if you just let it sit for a while, say overnight, assuming it's not too cold out. Now if you can start it in the morning but are unable to restart it then it sounds more like an alternator. You can check the alt by hooking a DMM up to the + batt terminal set to DC Volts. It should come up to 14+V at around 2-3K RPM...not at idle. If the voltage never rises above 13V then the alternator is toast.

The start of the car seems to be fine. The Security light on the amp isnt on, nor are the subs. They just went off for no reason and I cant figure out why.

Well then it's probably not the car batt or the alternator. Are there any lights on the amp lit and have you measured the input voltage yet?

To stop license plate rattlefirst get rubber washers for all 4 the screws and get some foam and glue it to the pack of the lisence plate, or something that will obsorbed the movement of the lisence plate. Just got 2 play with it till you get it rite, and if all else fails turn it up as loud as it can go so you cant hear the rattle.

i get a terrible rattle from my rear deck, trunk lid, and somewhere inside my left rear fender. I gotta figure out how to fix the trunk lid and the fender, the rear deck should be easy though.

i dont know about you guys, but what about those metal rods that are connected to the trunk? i think thats where my rattles come from. my friend also told me to adjust the tensioner on my trunk latch to make it tighter. is that true?
