Is this a decent amp
i got Infinity Kappa 462.5cfp for my front and was thinking about just keeping the stock speakers in my 93 max and using a Profile AP740 60W X 4 amp to power those fronts and then using the other 2 connection to power a sub. is that a good amp. i know its cheap, but will it get me good sound and be safe for my infinity speakers (60rms).

if i were to get a 50 x 4 channel amp...can i take 2 connections to my front speakers, then bridge the remaining 2 connections into 1 and connect it to a free air sub. ? I am going to put some $50 pioneers in the back, since i drive alone most of the time any way. will i be able the tell the differnece with the lower quality back speakers. i was gonna drive them straight from the hu. thanks for the help.

maybe use this free air sub. Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1. DO i have to mount it against the back seat..or can i just cut another circle in the middle of the rear deck speakers and place it in there, like a regular bose system. I dont have a bose sytem btw.

I know what you're trying to do, and I can appreciate that. But understand that in a limited budget you will always have some kind of sacrifices. You want to try and concentrate your efforts into a single area if possible to net you the best results. If you try and spread $200 out over spkrs, subs, amps, etc., you may be better off sometimes if you just spent that whole amt on one of those rather than all of them. Front stage will always be a prevailing sound, bass alone can also be had cheaply too. Figure out which one you want more and start there. Eventually you could fill in as your budget allows.
Again, that's just my .02.

Infinity Kappa 462.5cfp front
Sony CDX-F7715X head
Profile AP740 amp
Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 woofer
I have the Kappa's and Sony HU I got for free. people will attack me for using sony, but when its free i cant complain. I no im asking for too much from you guys, but can the profile amp work in the "tri mode" you speak of. Im more about sound quality and accurate base, not about alot of base. I dont need a killer woofer, but just wanted more base then those that come out of the speakers. Thanks again

look like im just gonan get the CLARION DXZ645MP ..and have the Infinity Kappa 462.5cfp in the front. What if i got rear speakers for about $200 and ran all 4 speakers with an amp..can that eliminate the need for a woofer. i dont need killer base, but accruate base like i said. my problem is i dont want to buy another amp for a sub, then i will have to worry about battery power and all.

ok my friends giving me 2 10' rockford fosgate subs in an enclosure. he said they are model 911..i cant seem to find information on them. i guess its safe to say 2 subs are better than none.
what are cerwin vega speakers? i have never heard of them nor found a good place that sells them...are these good...he said i can have these as well.

@ramtaajogi...
Cerwin Vega's used to be really popular a long time ago. I haven't heard from them in a very long time. If the RF's are in an enclosure, I'm curious to know what kind of enclosure they're in. It sounds like they're in a bandpass enclosure (they're usually two subs with a plexiglas window covering them) they will probably sound very "boomy" producing that "ghetto-bass" type of sound, which doesn't seem to be what you're looking for. The boxes tend to be pretty large, too. I had a similar setup with two Kicker Comp 10's, but I decided they're not going in my new ride because I want to see how a sub in a sealed enclosure sounds. I'm planning on getting a single Kicker L7 as my source of bass in the new ride...
With all this new-found "free" stuff you're scoring, you might want to consider a two amp setup (bi-amplification). Check out my website and see what I did with a pair of the "dreaded" Profile amps. I never had a problem with them, and they sounded better than I think most people gave them credit for.

You need to decide what equipment you're gonna use. It seems you're all over the map. It's hard to give accurate advice when the plans change so often. You are obviously going by what other people are telling you about this equipment. As such, you have to simply decide what you're gonna finally get so we can help guide you in the right direction.

ur right jaime...Here is what I have in my hands right now . Clarion Dxz645mp and Infinity Kappa 462.5cfp Rms 60 watts.
I have subs which i havent even seen yet in a wooden enclosure.
Now i need an amp to power these. I was thinking RF p4004 or Infinity Reference 7541a. I got confused when it said the infinity is 111 w X 4 at 4 ohm. My front speakers cant handle that right? The RF has a 50W x 4 at 4 ohm.
I am down to just picking an amp. If the subs my friend give me arent good then i will buy subs in the future, or just remove his subs and put my own in. Probally 2x Stage 1 RF's.

IMO working with what you have, you should get a 4 ch amp for the front/rear spkrs and run that at the simple 4ohm load.
You will need a second amp for just the subs. Subs by nature are power hungry. Under driving will both sound like crap and possibly damage a spkr too (a lot of variables, but it's possible). As such, just opt to find the best 2 channel amp you can afford and work with that. Depending on the box, it's size, and the subs used is going to determine what you'll end up with as far as sound. If you're keeping costs to a minimum, you may just end up having to live with whatever you have vs redesigning a whole new system you can't afford in the first place. Follow?
Installation is a crucial key to any system, especially so when you are on a budget. The equipment may not be the best, and therefore any sloppiness in the install will be readily apparent in the sound much easier than with top-end equipment. Just the nature of the beast. That's not to say that you can't get decent sound out of budget equipment. It's definetly possible, but there are a lot of crucial variables to remember in order to get there.
My .02.

when installing the amp, i just want to run speaker wire to the head unit and then connect it from there instead of passing it though the doors. could i tie the wire at the HU and then pull to the doors, or is the wire held down somewhere? also what gague wire do i use to run from my amp to my speakers.. i decided on getting a audiobahn a4004t hope it turns out alright.
