ShRapNeR got metered today!

yet another ....

drove 120 miles to get this **** started..

my setup:

15"XXX
3.75ft^3235hz box
Hifonics Brutus BX1800D
Yellow Top and Big 3 upgraded

139.6 at 45hz on the new TL, Guy said that was good considering it was in a closed trunk. We played around with the position of the box for a while.. and then i got to hook a Death Penalty up to it.

the DP had a broken voice coil and was not running at .5 ohms and it did just under mine, and it also needs a larger box..

he said i could be in the 140's if i had more port, so you know what im thinking? yep.. time to build a new box. and im losing alot of volts somewhere..

What's your wiring like from the amp to the subs? Please don't tell me you running 16ga.

Also, the last compeition I went to there was a Navi with 4 12"s, with a 1000 watt amp pushing them. He only hit 148.9 The guy who won the 0-500 watt class hit 150.1

I must go down and have mine remetered. I'm sure that box of mine will allow me to break the 150s this time.

sounds like knukonceptz wire? and my lights dim too, & i dont want to spend more money on a alternator, so i am probly gonna sell the subs and amp....so unless i find a cheap alternative to the alternator, then my only alternative is to alternate my trunk...wtf did i just say...?lol

That'll do decently. I have 10 ga inside my box, and 12 ga from the amp to the box. I also like to add a washer onto the terminal post inside the box. Makes for more contact area on the ring connector.

soon imma upgrade to 1/0 g wire and see if that helps anything..

anyone wouldn't care to draw me up some box plans would they? still want it to be good sq.. just a little more port area than i already have.. i lack knowledge in box building and i have no clue on how to draw one up.. nor where to start..

and if the wire don't fix my dimming a lil i guess il get me a new alt.. if that don't work then i don't know wtf to do..

Have u tried adding a battery n the trunk? I guess after seeing pics of ur setup i don't know if there would b any room? The only electrical upgrades i have done r red top under the hood, yellow top n the trunk, and the big 3. I have 1/0 g for the big 3 and to the extra battery.

Great score. kpr10is and I upgraded the electrical in my 01. We upgraded the big3 and the power wire to the trink with Stinger Expert 0ga and upgraded the wire from the rear power distribution block to the amps with 4 ga. It is much louder. The 192sqft of Stinger Expert Roadkill, I am sure , helped as well. The only thing I wish we would have left was the Yellow Top in the trunk. We eliminated it and upgraded the wire in hopes of better electrical flow. It worked. Now my headlights dim very badly and never did before. As soon as I get ahold of Don, I will be putting the second battery back in. I wouldn't personally build another box unless you were going to compete all the time. The tuning of an spl box is very high in comparison with a daily setup. It would be a fun project though.

try building a port plug if you build a new box...didnt you say you wanted to downgrade your system a month or 2 ago? Chris, does the car still shut off at high volumes when idling?

The car doesn't shut off, the bass amp goes into protection due to lack of sufficient voltage supply. I turn the volume down and it comes back on after a second or two.
