How come I don't get credit for inspiring you in the first place
. I am really glad that you decided to do it, especially considering the amount of time you're putting into the rest of it. Keep it up.
Okayyyy...it's time to start finishing this beast of a project up! I started the day by making nice and smooth edges for the monitor and the HU. I used a straight-edge in order to level off the edges as best I could...

...and here is how the edges came out for the monitor...

...and for the HU...

...and here's how it all look together!

Here's how the monior looks in place...

...and on the HU WE STILL HAVE THE EFFING GAPS!!!!

So I went back for a final time and added body filler to the HU only, so this is the last use of body filler I ever hope to see again! I am going to do what I can on the gaps a third time, and if it's not as good as I want it to be, I already have a back-up plan in mind.

I am going to try and work on this tommorow, although I think I am just going to work on the mounting frames for a change of pace.

UPDATE
Ok, so over on ca.com a couple of people were warning me that the body filler would not bond with the plastic climate control and the whole thing would crack. So, yesterday I did a sand with the following grits: 60, 150, 300, 500, 800, 1500, and 2000. And wouldn't you know it, IT STARTED TO CRACK.
Soooo, it looks like I am going to have to extract the climate control, clean up the area, and reattach using a 2-parts Rigid Repair Epoxy...damn...I was getting so close...

Rock on dude, your lessons will earn you a sticky on how to do it right the first time, that is of course if you share your mistakes and experience. Nothing but respect for you efforts...
