New woofers!

I got these for a good deal at where I work (Fry's). They're Polk DB series dual 12"s hooked up to a Profile amp. It pushes gobs of air!

I think they look great in the trunk because the curves match the lines of the trunk. I just need to get some lighting for the interior as well as some light tubing for the inner grill circle.

It may sound good to you, but it looks like ****. Please, for our sake, install the amp somewhere else. That is the worst, ghetto place for an amp.

lol..harsh...but on another note..the amp isnt supposed to be mounted on a box..you might cause leakage of air..because of the screws....what happened if it pushed too much air and the screws come somwhat loose?..eventually you wont notice it..and you'll get ****ty sound quality... for taking the amp and mounting it somwhere else...but i think they look decent..sound quality...dunno cause i never heard them..how much did you pay for the whole setup?

Nothing a little a caulking couldn't take care of, or using any screws shorter than a 3/4".

The only major concern that has to be worried about mounting on a box is internal components rattling loose. Which is easily negated with rubber washers.

well if your setup was loud enough, practically anything close to your subs would rattle/vibrate. i'm sure amps (decent ones at least) can withstand some vibrations, to a certain extent.

Air leakage from amp screws? Are you aware of just how many people mount their amps to the sub enclosure?

The amp isn't actually mounted on the sub. I just placed it there for convenience in wiring. Right now it's sitting behind the sub, but I plan on placing it in the fold down armrest area because it looks killer with its line of red LEDs.

The whole setup cost maybe $400, not including the Pioneer speakers (they came installed with the car when I bought it, which is great because they sound great).

The amp does a good job of delivering clean power to the subs. It isnt as likely to blow them out either because the amp doesn't deliver as much watts as the subs can handle. It still pushes a ridiculous amount of air though. I absolutely LOVE the sound. The bass is so tight and clean that it makes every genre of music I put through it sound better. What's even more amazing is that the subs actually REDUCED the amount of rattle in my car compared to my old 12" Kicker, while still pushing 10x as much air. I don't know how this is possible. O_o
