What to do about the stereo.

Ok I have the stock 8 speaker non-bose system. I think it sounds fine. I put a 850 watt sound system in my car in college and I just don't feel the need anymore. I sure as hell know I don't hear like I should. My dilemma is that I hate changing CD's. Getting the BOSE HU isn't much of a change since I like to change music often. I have a very nice Panasonic CD\MP3 player in my truck that I am getting ready to sell. Should I take that out and get the adapter kit to put a DIN unit in the 6th gen or should I get the PAC AAI-NIS and get an Ipod. It sure is a dilemma for me, and it will cost a ton more to go with th ipod option, abeit more hip. The biggest down side to using my old radio is that the factory controls will still be on the dash. I'd rather not have non-funtional stuff on the dash. Give me your opinions.

I don't know if I should or not, but I have no idea what this means.

I'm probably the wrong person to answer your question but I would put in the HU from your truck and get the PAC. If you like to change your music that much, the IPOD is the way to go. Plus you can take it with you, not just for in the car. If that's too much $$ just put in the HU, at least you'll have MP3 capability. To be honest the Bose speakers sound much better with an aftermarket HU, I was completely surprised. As for the non-functional stuff, I forgot about them after a day or so...does suck though I will admit.
By the way here's why I'm probably the wrong person, I went for it...

Why don't you get something like this for you cd's. You can get it less than 150 dollars. I had this in my last car. You can also buy extra cd holders.

Good luck

CX-DP880
8-Disc CD Changer

Fits Almost Anywhere
The CX-DP880 is extremely compact and will fit in many glove compartments or even under a seat, so you're not limited to using the trunk for installation as is the case with some less-compact CD changers. Installation is further simplified since you can mount it upright, horizontally, or at three more selectable angles.

Anti-Shock Floating Mechanism for Less Skipping
Thanks to this CD changer's floating suspension, there's no need to worry about annoying disc skipping.

Skip Over Empty Slots with Learning Skip
No more unnecessary pauses when you've got empty disc trays. Instead of trying to access a non-existent disc, this CD changer learns which slots are empty and will automatically skip over them, accessing only the CDs that are actually loaded.

Hours of Uninterrupted Music
This CD changer lets you load up to 8 CDs so you can enjoy hours of uninterrupted music.

I need some help in the worst way. I need to do something with my 2004 maximas stereo situation and DVD. I have the stock stuff installed. Here's my dilema. Do I install a new stereo/cd/DVD player with the automatic screen that comes out?
or can I install something that would run off a LCD monitor installed where the display is? example, if I installed a CD/DVD player and installed a LCD monitor to run it to. But Does that mean I would loose my stereo?

I'm so confused, I would GREATLY appreciate some suggestions or help here

I guess it depends on how much money you have to burn. Either option works, obviously you saw the route I took, but you could run a CD/DVD player off the stock system as well...people on here have done it, search around or check on Cardomain...

If I was to install a DVD in my glove compartment, would I be able to move the display to the space compartment on the bottom and install a bigger LCD screen up top?

One other question, somebody told me that if I install a CD/DVD player in the car and put a LCD screen up top and move the display down to the bottom, I will loose my radio? True or false?

okay, have another question? If I go the route and install a new CD/DVD player in the dash like posted above, what happens to all my radio controls that come stock with the car on the center console dash and on the steering wheel?

Hello I getting off the subject , but i would like to know if anyone out there has added a RCA convertor to your stock radio. If so, could you share instructions on how do you this. I would like to add a couple of subs w/amp. I was also reading that the BOSE speakers sounded good w/a aftermarket HU. I've also read it does not sound well either. Share your AMHU info please. Also did you hook up all speakers ex:all doors and rear panel?

Thanks! Roland

Yes you can move the display to the bottom, that's what I did. You should be able to keep your stock radio as well, I know some people have done it.
