Question about HI/Lo converters

so my friends and i are installing a sub and an amp with my factory HU. i tapped the hi/lo into the rear speakers and connected the hi/lo to the amp. we didn't finish the job cause it was getting dark and very very cold. my question is this: is it normal to lose the bass that comes from the rear speakers? the music i'm listening to now doesn't sound the same (lost its bass). is the sub suppose to take over the bass that was lost in the rear speakers? please help me. thank you.

Is the Amp tuned right, does the LOC have settings?

No, the LOC shouldnt change anything about the way the rear speakers play.

did you tap off the wires comming from the HU or the wires connected directly to the speaker? they are different. the ones going to the speakers are amped, while the ones from the HU (going to the factory amp) arent amped. it will screw with your sound so you have to pick the right wires. since you are using the LOC you want the wires going directly to the speaker.

yeah i went to the install doctor and tapped into the wires that go into the speakers not the amp. there are 4 wires going into the speakers. 2 are thicker than the other 2. the thicker wires are the ones going to the amp. meanwhile i don't even think the amp was turned on since i didnt' put the remote wire in yet. =(
