SWI-X install help

Ok, I have a 03 max with bose, pioneer deck, line converter (to integrate the pioneer deck with stock bose speakers), and I'm trying to install a PAC SWI-X. I already have the brown/white stripe wire from the swc grounded to retain trip functions...and the deck and line converter are grounded together through the factory ground via the wire harness...now every time I try to ground the swi-x the deck won't turn on...it's like the deck's ground and the swi-x ground are cancelling each other out. I can't find any place to ground it so that both the deck and swi-x will turn on. Any one know whats wrong?

Also...the swi-x calls for connecting the two resistors to two wires from the swc harness. All directions I've read say the wires are a blue/w yellow stripe and a solid red...but I have a blue/w yellow stripe and then a red with silver/grey dotted lines and a red/w solid black stripe...am I'm using the correct harness? The same one with the brown/white stripe wire you need to ground to retain trip functions on the steering wheel? If it's the correct harness which red wire should I use? Thanks.

There is no ground in the factory harness.....

Make an actual ground with a ring terminal. Theres a 10mm nut on the left and right sides down in the dash holding some computers to brackets.

I've already grounded the swi-x to every piece of metal in sight and it happens every time...are you saying to try grounding the deck/converter?

Yes, ground your deck and converter.

You said,
and the deck and line converter are grounded together through the factory ground via the wire harness
Then I said,
There is no ground in the factory harness.....
