hehe...so far they have 1 minute of playtime. I'll get on'm a lil' tonite on my 30 min commute home. I got a few tracks that'll stretch'm out a bit

But from what I gather these things loosen up for the better over time. So it may be a while before I can truly asses how nice they are or what they can do.

oh yes big difference...some speakers sound warm and smooth like the morels, some are more airy and dynamic giving you greater space around the instrument sounds...difference is kinda like taking a wet towel off your speakers. A warmer sound may fare better with the heavy bass nature of rap or even make for smooth Jazz- whereas a more detailed speaker may not be so forgiving to bad recordings as it brings out the best in well recorded music along with the worst in bad ones.

Nothing wrong with either sound, just a matter of what your goals are. Mine at the momemt is to achieve greater dynamics and midbass precision.

Yep...well remember the hole was there from the other 8's. Of which Don put a mallet to the opening last year and incresed the diameter for me.

But other than triming the inside of the door panel some and lining up the ring to clear the door panel- 8's are pretty easy in a 5th gen. Take into account the outside diameter of the 8" speakers are in the 8 3/4" (close to 9") thats a big midbass

Playing midbasses that low dont sound too good, stage changes...unless of course your subs are up front. I tried that with the Morels. But I'm sure they are capable of 50hz easy.

I know but I bet it could sound like a single 10 or 12 in your car. I keep my midbasses at a nice 80hz although I would like them to come in around 70hz. pioneer tv owns me.
