Yea its a kicker l7 12inch, with a 300rms alpine amp hooked up to it. Gain is half way bass boost off, and i think the x over is at 60 or 70 not sure.

I just started noticing at high volumes the sub makes a loud stinging noise. I doubt its tinsel slapping, but its really loud and obnoxious. when the trunk is open, it sounds like something is intruding with the sub for it to make that Farting noise.

I checked the box and it has no holes or any of the sort. btw its sealed.

what could it be? i hope that shiet isnt blown

impedance is good, i realised what happen.

the sub fell face down on the cars trunk and was playing at loud volume. This was sunday, and i wanted to know why the bass was so low. When i opened the trunk the sub had fell face down. i guess thats what damgaed the motor and shiet.

in my trunk there is a slope. the back half of the trunk is higher than the lower part, so thats what caused it to fall on its face.... kicker should cover it right?

Sure kicker will cover it, just like if you crash into a building the warranty will cover it.

Avi...your common sense is well...vacant.

you know, couple bucks for some L brackets could have saved you all this trouble.

if u installed it right it wouldnt have tipped over so you didnt blow it by underpowering it you blew it through your own stupidity. secure your stuff man and get ur install and equipment from a decent place and stop half assing everything. cause from what i have read in every one of ur "im having a problem im sht is broken" threads it all from error done by you. get it dont right the first time and u wont have these issues. 5 bux now could have saved u 100 later.

Underpowering CAN cause damage if it is a clipped signal that is being overloaded in order to make the signal louder.
