I'm leaning more towards the Kenwood but wanted to get the org's take on it.

WOW- Where is the love around here?

Well, most people are going to say get the eclipse. I have a Kenwood 889 and it sounds phenominal, but with one major downfall, to me at least. The unit has a particularly high noise floor and this can be quite a problem if you run your gains a little high. I have mine set with DMM and I still get a little hiss. But the sound is awesome. I would reccomend it. Never owned an eclipse and the lack of a detatchable face is a big minus for me.

I have an Eclipse CD3000 and I have no regrets. Nothing has gone wrong yet, and it has very many options for upgrading (HD, sat, ipod, cd changer, remote). The only thing I might gripe about is the turn *****, because they are pretty sensitive.

What is this lack of a detachable face you speak of?

Last time i was looking at eclipse, only the most expensive one had a detatchable face. The other models did not. Did they change this?
