Co-axial's with crossovers

Well, one of my comps died, and found an old pair of alpine coaxials had a while ago. So i was thinking, just take out the comps, leave in the tweeters, and hook up the alpines to the crossovers from my comps. Would there be any danger in doing so? I'm tired of riding around with 1 front speaker, and dont want to put any more money into the audio of the car right now...

thoughts?

Danger? Not too much. Might not sound too good mixing and matching though. The crossover points will probably be a little different but chances are the Alpine can handle it if all you want to do is get some sound.
