You were certainly and unfortunate one, but the amount of 880s I have to service in one quarter far outways the ones from Eclipse in more than a year. Eclipse or any brand for that matter is not bulletproof, but Pioneer has proven themselves to be the least reliable on these higher end models. In all honesty I like the unit - alot, but it a crapshoot.

I have to agree Juan. When I opened and installed my first one I said 'damn this thing is a gem" then powered it up and started thinking...wheres the buttons? I have to scroll to get a preset?? WTF?!?! All in all its still very asthetically pleasing, but way more work than is needed.

Plus as far as all the other audio controls etc, the pio's interface is VERY intuititive. It's not hard to pick up on how it's setup.

Remotes, simply put, are for lazy ****. Why should I have to have an extra piece in my car just to do daily functions? My DRZ has a remote,My XM has a remote,My DQT/DDC has a remote. NONE of which are in my car.

The preset is one thing, but the single control **** on the Eclipse is worse than Pio's setup, from what I understand. Not that it matters it's all potato's vs potahto's.

I think the x-over's that come with them are pretty nice and I like having the tweeter protection. I have a five year old daughter, and even though she knows how to control the radio, it is nice to have some insurance

I don't have a remote gain **** for my amp so that become the one big thorn in my side. I now have 30 levels of adjustment. Man I love that. The Eclipse would have been dam near perfect if it werent for that and those touchy *****.

Update. I am still running the Pioneer. It is still working properly. More importantly is what happened with Eclipse. Don was able to to get a replacement for me. My 8455 is in HU heaven, wherever that is. Eclipse sent a brand spankin new CD7000 to me. Unfortunately for me, I haven't had a chance to test it out. It has a new home in one of my best friends trucks for now. His old Pioneer (6yrsold) decided to take the CD he made. It liked the CD so much, it never gave it back. Since I have been using his PCA2000D's for a few months, I thought it nice to let him use it.
I was able to sit and play with it for a while before it left my house. I must say it was more solid than I had expected. The user interface has been markedly improved. I felt like all of the things I didn't like about my old Eclipse had been resolved. Even the non-fader was a bit better, it could still use some more headroom/adjustability. The screen is, to say the least, amazing. I promtly turned off the graphics though. I just don't like them. Not those specifically, but the distraction of them in general. The addition of the spectrum analyzer is awesome, IMHO. The CD7000 sounded awesome. Derrick called me back a few days later raving about the sound. He is hearing things he had never heard before. He says he wants to keep it, we will see. I still want to try it in my car. I might do a swap soon enough so I can do a head to head comparison.
My D6 1500.1 is at Diamond. I am going to call the shop that sent it in under warranty for me tomorrow and see if I can get an update on it's return. I miss that amp. Although the PCA 2000D is louder, it doesn't seem as warm as with the other amp. Atleast I have music.

Yep. Sometimes things all work out in one fell swoop. And today after 2 months without any rain, it hasn't stopped since 3 this morning. I have zero scaping in the front due to the lack of rain. I hope this helps. My water bill is going to be crazy.
