V791 remote reprogram

so my old remote died, picked up a new one from a .orger but can't find the directions to program the new remote to the unit.

the actual brain is from a 790 w a 791 remote.. since i'm a dummy and couldn't turn the alarm off when the old remote broke the brain is currently unplugged entirely, i don't know if that makes a difference in programming the new remote since the alarm goes off as soon as I plug it back in.

anyone have any suggestions besides call don, don't want to bug him with something that should be simple..

If it came in a brand new package I think it says on the back of the package how to program it.

IF NOT... call don.
Scared of don?? Afraid he might make you buy something else?? I am too.

Plug the unit back in, then turn ign on and press the valet button to turn the alarm off. Take key out.

Now put the key back in, turn to ON and press the button 8 times holding it on the 8th. Press the lock button on the remote, remove key. Done.
