Bose Radio install Questions

I treid to install the bose radio from my 99 G20 into my 95 Max and it does not work. The power comes on but thats about it. Does anyone know what wires I need to move around to get it to work?

Thanks for the help in advance.

do you have bose speakers in the max? because a bose HU wont drive any speakers without amplification. each bose speaker in a 95 max has a seperate amp to power them.

MY 95 Max is a GLE and has Bose. The G20 I tried to take the radio from is a 99 and has a amp in the back deck.

That might be why. I don't think the Bose amp'd HU's will work with regular units.

Both cars came stock with Bose headunits. The pic above is the radio out of a 99 G20.

I understand that but the 95-99 bose on maximas has "amps" on the speakers while the new ones such as your g20 and 5th gens have an "amp" on the rear deck for all the speakers. That might be the reason it is not working properly. If you like, I can move this thread to the audio forum.

Do eeeet!

I would have guessed that the units woudl have been compatible, but as Kevlo pointed out, the outboard amps might not be getting turn-on signal from the newer HU. I'd check the wiring diagrams in the audio subforum to see if the turn-on signal pins are the same on your HU and the new HU. My guess is that they are not.
