JL 12W1 subs any good?
#4
Its a pretty good price. Im sellin my gf's 10w1's in her JL box (prowedge?) for 140 .. i know they sell locally for 130 cuz i hit another guy up who sold the exact same thing.
they sound pretty good too. They just dont go as low as i'd like. (she cant tell anyways.. but she can tell trunk space, so im swappin her to 1 12in IDQ .. gotta build the box soon)
if you have some way to wire it up and test it.. try it out. The w1's she has are each 8ohms, so wired parallel you get 4ohms.. make sure you have an amp that puts out around 5-600w at 4ohm. (yes, its over the spec, but JL is known for major underrating on their subs)
My gf's w1's take 450w right now. (4ohm bridged mono)
I think you'll like them.

i would
find some w0's cause if i am right they are more efficiant and will be louder with less power...and less power means less cash which everyone likes.....I have 2 12w3's running on a alpine 757 ...75x2... yah its alittle underpowered but i have to get more cash...i sold my w0's i was running for the longest time and kinda wish i haddn't ....jl way underrates their subs on power for reasons unknow other than sales .try out the w1's...i had broblems with my 15w1s they ended up being ashtrays plus with w0;s VRC tech...that helps out ememsly with life of your sub...just trying to help a bit....
