all i want to know is, if i rip out the bose HU and all the speakers.... do I need a harness adapter to hook up an aftermarket HU? also, can I just cut the wires leading into the bose amps on the speakers and put spade connectors on there for the new speakers?

im actually going with components, but for sake of confusion lets assume im just going with coaxs.

You can cut the leads, but why? The harness is only $7 bucks and will make your job MUCH easier...

You won't be able to use non-Bose speakers with Bose amps... If you want to replace all the speakers, your best bet is to run new +/- from the HU to each speaker. You could go through the hassle of tracing each speaker's wire to the amp, cut each wire at the amp and splice those ends together if you didn't wan to run new wire. Or, you can keep the Bose speakers and use the harness to go from the HU to the Bose plugs.

arent the amps right beside each speaker? or is that a crossover for the components?

if not, where are the amps? i thought they were independant for each speaker

So an aftermarket deck will work fine in a 6th gen w/Bose, as long as you keep the existing speakers intact and use a wiring harness for the deck?
