How much should I expect to pay for alarm instalation? I am planning to buy one of those paging alarms from ebay, and have a store install it for me. Any bodyd have any experience with those alarms?

Get the make and the model of the alarm and ask the car audio shop how much they would charge you before you purchase the alarm on ebay. Especially their warranties. On the pager part depending on the brand it's an average of 10-30 seconds from when your alarm goes off til your pager goes off.

usually shops will charge $80-150 for the install, but it reallydepends on the alarm and how long they take to do it. they'll usually quote you for a 4hour job to install an alarm- which will run about $120.

I had one put in a few weeks ago, it cost me about $60.00
Be careful of what you buy, because no all after market alarms will work on a Nissan right out of the box.

I started off with a Crime Guard System from Crutchfield.
They assured me that it would work, first right out of the box, then with an adapter. Well it didn't, It seems that Nissans need a system that gives out one pulse to activate the locks two pulses to deactivate the locks. Many systems do not do this, thats how I ended up with my Avital system. It works right the first time.

Just be careful buying an alarm on line

My suggestion would be going to your local car audio shop so they can explain to you what features and or options you want for your alarm then they will install it generally with a lifetime gurantee on the alarm and on their labor.

You can get a "basic" alarm say for roughly $199.00 installed.
