Using HP/LP filters on amp
Using HP/LP filters on amp
For my Audison LRx 2.9 amp, I'm trying to tweak the settings. Currently I have everything on full range (no filters). But since I only have 3-way components and no subwoofer, on some heavy-bass songs the midbass drivers can't handle the bass really well. So should I turn on the low-pass or high-pass filter to prevent the frequencies that my comps can't handle? And what frequency should I choose--anything below the specs of the speakers? Thank you
maybe...it depends what frequencies the mid ranges cant handle...a HPF only lets the speakers hit frequencies above the filter point... (i.e. a HPF at 90hz wont let the speakers hit a 60hz note which is deep bass)...so your best bet is to the the filter to HPF and I'd say dont go any lower that 80hz with the cut off point...even this may be too low you will know by listening
Alright guys, I set the HPF to 80Hz, but there were still a boatload of features in the X-over settings that I wasn't sure about: High, Low, Pass, octave, slope, etc. What do I set those to?
